BlackBerry market share plunges in US with zero percent Q4 sales

ANI Washington

BlackBerry reportedly captured zero percent or at least not enough worth mentioning of the US smartphone market in the fourth quarter of 2013, a new survey has revealed.

The survey, conducted by market research firm CIRP, revealed that the US market continued to be dominated by the iPhone and Android with 48 percent and 46 percent share respectively.

However, sinking smartphone manufacturer, BlackBerry, was beaten by Windows Phone, which grabbed the remaining 3 percent, TechHive reports.

According to the report, the CIRP counts only consumers and for this survey, it had a sample size of just 500 people.

Meanwhile, other estimates present a better picture of BlackBerry, with comScore revealing in its November report that the company counted a 3.5 percent share and not a complete zero.

The statistics are indicative of BlackBerry's gloomy future as it continues to struggle hard against market knights Apple, Samsung and Google.
