Bruce Greenwood has signed to be a part of the upcoming film based on Rathergate scandal 'Truth'.
The project, which would see James Vanderbilt, who also write the script, make his directorial debut, stars Robert Redford as Dan Rather in the adaptation of Truth and Duty: The Press, the President, and the Privilege of Power, the memoir by Mary Mapes, which would be played by Cate Blanchett, the Hollywood Reporter reported.
The 58-year-old 'Star Trek' actor would play the role of Andrew Heyward, president of CBS News, the man who ultimately fires Mapes.
The movie would show the firestorm that erupted in September of 2004 post Rather reported that George W. Bush had received special treatment while serving in the Air National Guard during the Vietnam War. Once it was confirmed that some documents were suspected to be forgeries, Rather's reputation was badly damaged and Mapes was fired.
The film also stars Dennis Quaid, Elizabeth Moss, John Benjamin Hickey and Topher Grace.
