Sadananda Gowda pays surprise visit at Bangalore railway station

Union Minister for Railway D V Sadananda Gowda today held a surprise inspection of Bangalore City Railway Station to check its cleanliness.

Gowda also boarded a train to Mysore thereafter and was received by supporters at the Byadarahalli Railway station, which is 20km away from Mysore.

While speaking to the media Gowda said, "cleanliness in bogies of train need improvement; I seek the co-operation of the people too. I inspected all the bogies, drinking water facility and toilets in the train during my journey. My top priority would be given for facilities for passengers and cleanliness. I will also provide adequate security for women No new projects for the state have been proposed. First the pending ones will be executed."

 

During his inspection in Bangalore he interacted with many of his staff and also to a few passengers at the station to get a feedback from them.

While at Mysore, Gowda inspected the canteen, waiting halls, ticket counters and other facilities at City Railway Station before leaving for the BJP party office.

On July 8, Gowda had presented his maiden Railway Budget for fiscal year 2014-15 where he introduced a slew of reform measures to modernise Indian Railways.

In his maiden rail budget, Gowda had said that his ministry would seek cabinet approval for allowing FDI in railways, but passenger services would be excluded. However, he did not give details on how he will attract investors.
