China approves Microsoft's $7.2 bln deal to buy Nokia's device business

ANI Washington

China has shown green signal to Nokia's planned sale of its device business to Microsoft.

Following the approval, the 7.3 billion dollar deal would ahead.

Nokia said that it has received regulatory approval from the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China.

According to TechCrunch, Microsoft released a statement, which reveals that the Chinese Ministry of Commerce did have some concerns about how its patent licensing practices might change after acquisition.

Last month, the companies said that they expect the deal to close in April, which they still maintain.
