The district administration and the transport department in Guwahati recently launched an exclusive bus service for women.
The bus service was flagged off from Judges' field in Guwahati by Assam Chief Secretary Jitesh Khosla.
Initially, eight buses will operate on different routes across the city from 7-11 a.m. and from 3-8 p.m. every day.
The buses equipped with CCTV cameras will have women constables and conductors on duty.
" This kind of bus is required in the city especially for working women who travel in the morning and they come back late .So this particular bus service is very good," said Jerryfa Wahid, actress and brand ambassador .
