Congress taunts PM Modi, says some become 'self centric' abroad

Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel was on Tuesday critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's comments made during his foreign tours and asked why those occupying the highest offices today become 'self centric' when they go abroad.

"Why those who occupy the highest offices today become self centric instead of country centric when they go abroad?" Patel said on Twitter.

Earlier in the day, Congress leader Kapil Sibal had accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of speaking "without applying any thought" and also said that commenting without checking facts had become his habit.

The Prime Minister had earlier, while addressing the Indian Community Reception in Seoul, South Korea said that "there was a time when people used to say we don't know what sins we committed in our past life that we were born in Hindustan".

"Is this any country, is this any government...we will leave. There was a time when people used to leave, businessmen used to say we can't do business here. These people are ready to come back. The mood has changed," he added.
