The Delhi Police on Thursday registered a case against former law minister Somnath Bharti, after he was accused of domestic violence and mental torture by his wife Lipika Mitra.
The case has been registered against Bharti under Sections 307, 323 and 498A of the Indian Penal Code.
Lipika Bharti has been married to Somnath Bharti since 2010, but has been living separately from him since 2012 along with the couple's two children in a rented accommodation in Dwarka.
Mr. Bharti lives with his mother and brother in the Malviya Nagar area of the city.
