In an attempt to make the sport more interesting for its declining fan base, Formula 1 bosses have agreed to bring back refuelling and noisier engines from 2017 season.

With the decrease in numbers in Television and live audience figures, F1's strategy group came up with a few ideas to give a boost to the sport.

The governing body of Federation Internationale de I'Automobile (FIA) said that besides refuelling, there would also be higher reviving and louder engines and changes aimed at making cars "five to six seconds a lap faster", the BBC reported.

However, it would require approval from further two legislative stages.

The introduction of turbo hybrid engines and a fuel restriction under the engine rules last year will remain stable.

These rules would are aimed to give clarity for any potential new manufactures who might be considering to enter the sport.

But among all the changes made, it is the refueling which would attract the most attention.

Refuelling was last practiced in 2009 Formula 1 season.
