FIR registered after soldier shot directly into protester's head: J-K DGP

Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) S.P. Vaid on Friday said that an FIR has been registered into the killing of a protester by a paramilitary trooper, who fired at him at point-blank range in Budgam area during Sunday's by-poll.

Vaid told ANI that a general FIR has been filed as the video's authenticity needs to be verified.

"It is a matter of investigation and action will be taken against whoever is found guilty," he added.

A video has come to light in which a trooper shoots directly in the head of a stone-pelting protester outside a polling station in Budgam.
