Four militants, one Army jawan killed in Handwara encounter

Four militants and an Army jawan were killed here during an encounter.

"Around at 8:30 p.m.last night, militants attacked us. We had launched a joint operation and the firing continued for the whole night. Four militants were killed in the operation. We have also recovered four AK-47s," Ghulam Jeelani, Superintendent of Police, Handwara, said here

According to reports, an Army jawan was also killed in the operation.

Raees Masroor, a local inhabitant of Handwara told ANI, "Last night we could hear a lot of gunfire in the Hafruda Forest. The firing went on all night and stopped at around 7 a.m. We got to know that four militants were killed.
