It is well known that employers sometimes bring their kids to work, but now the time seems to have changed with generation Y bringing their mum and dad's to work with them.

According to the Wall Street Journal report, many companies are embracing the shift as a way to provide job satisfaction to Gen Y, News.com.au reported.

Michael Van Grinsven, development director at Northwestern Mutual, said that some managers call or send notes to parents when interns achieve their sales goals and let parents come along to interviews and hear details of job offers.

Grinsven asserted that this step has been achieving results with the number of interns meeting the company's benchmark for success in sales.

Google held its second annual 'Take Your Parents to Work Day' in May, while LinkedIn is all set to host its first 'Bring Your Parents To Work Day' in November at offices in 14 countries.
