Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar has said the government plans to accord the Centre of National Excellence status to the Pune-based Film and Television Institute of India and the Kolkata-based Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute.
Interacting with students and faculty members of the FTII in Pune, he said the government would hold discussions with all stakeholders before finalising the draft of new cinematograph act.
