Hamid Ansari greets nation ahead of Buddha Purnima

Vice President Mohammad Hamid on Friday greeted the nation ahead of the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima.

In his message, Ansari said: " I convey my greetings and best wishes to all our citizens on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima, which marks the birthday of Gautama Buddha.

"Lord Buddha's teachings of compassion, selfless service, right conduct and non-violence are as relevant as ever in our age," he said.

"On this important occasion, let us imbibe Buddha's message and dedicate ourselves towards building a peaceful, compassionate and harmonious society," he added.
