India, Pakistan DGMOs to meet on December 24

Director Generals of Military Operations of India and Pakistan will meet on the Pakistani side of the Wagah border on December 24 in abid to ease tensions along the LIne of Control (LoC) that separates the two countries.

This will be the first meeting between the DGMOs of the two countries after 14 years.

During their meeting in New York in September Prime Ministers Manmohan Singh and Nawaz Sharif had decided on the DGMO's meet among other measures to improve ties between the two countries.

Lt. Gen. Vinod Bhatia will represent India, while Major General Aamer Riaz will represent Pakistan at the talks.

 

The issue of recent cease fire violations,cross border terrorism and raids are likely to be the focus of the talks, media reports said.
