BJP spokesman M J Akbar on Thursday said India will give a befitting reply to Pakistan if it continues to inflict damage.

"It is not healthy for the environment if Pakistan continues its provocative attitude towards our nation," Akbar told ANI.

Fresh ceasefire violations by Pakistan were reported in Balakote and Hamirpur sectors of Poonch.

Pakistan fired at Indian posts in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday morning just days after Director Generals of both border forces met in New Delhi to discuss ways to maintain peace in the area.

No causality has been reported so far, but residents, especially children, were left scared. Schools were also shut for the day.
