J-K: Army averts major terrorist strike at Akhnoor

The Indian Army on Wednesday averted a major terrorist strike on the targets in the Akhnoor area of Jammu and Kashmir.

On Wednesday night, the sentries observed suspicious movement close to an army unit location near the Akhnoor market.

The response mechanism was activated, wherein the entire area was cordoned off and a search operation was conducted by the security forces.

With the help of the dog squad, one fully installed IED, two mines, army accouterments, and other incriminating stores have been recovered.

The combing operations are currently underway.
