In a first-of-its-kind, Jaipur played host to a Laughter Festival, where comics came together to enthrall the audience with their performances.
A two-day event, the festival saw a large attendance in its very first edition.
Thousands of people laughed their hearts out over the performances of standup comedy artistes like Raju Shrivastava and others.
"This trend will be very popular. I have done 3,000 shows till now but this is first kind of show where artistes and audience both are equally enjoying the show," said Shrivastava.
More than 80 artistes performed at the festival which concluded on Sunday.
The festival's organiser, Somendra Sharma, said that apart from entertaining audience, the event would provide a platform to aspiring comedy artistes.
"People are leading busy lives and have become ambitious and when their ambitions are not fulfilled they go into depression. So, such kind of laughter festival spread happiness and changes the mood and environment," said Sharma.
Jaipur organises an array of festivals every year, including Jaipur Literature festival, International Camel Festival and Jaipur Kite Festival among many others.
