Jwala Gutta, the left-handed Indian badminton player, has congratulated M C Mary Kom on winning gold in the women's 48-51 kilograms final in the Asian Games going on in Incheon, South Korea.
Congratulating Mary Kom and the athlete team Gutta said, "I am very happy that Mary Kom won the gold medal. It's a very proud movement for a sportsperson."
Kom defeated Kazakhstan's Zhaina Shekerbekova 3-1 in the Seonhak gym. She lost the first round to Shekerbekova but made a tremendous comeback to win the rest of the four rounds.
The five-time world boxing champion led India to the seventh gold in the 2014 Asian Games. Kom is the only woman boxer to have won a medal in each of the six world championships.
India currently stand on the 10th place in the Asian Games having bagged seven gold, eight silver and 32 bronze medals overall till now.
