Kamal Thapa hints India behind foiling merger of RPP and RPP-N

Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) chairman Kamal Thapa said on Tuesday that a force involved in toppling former prime minister K.P. Sharma Oli-led government is responsible for foiling the merger plan of his party and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).
Speaking at a press conference, Thapa hinted the force could be India and said Pashupati Sumsher Rana's incompetency to take decision on his own led to the cancelation of merger.
"Rana was distancing himself from the merger once he returned from India visit in mid-July," the Kathmandu Post quoted Thapa as saying.
The merger plan of two right-wing parties was cancelled yesterday after RPP opted out demanding that the party's statue should be finalised before the unification.
Both were set to announce merger today.
