'Legend' Kenny Rogers to 'retire' after upcoming worldwide tour

The American country music legend Kenny Rogers has announced that he will be retiring after his upcoming worldwide tour.

The 77-year-old singer and record producer, who has spent almost six decades in music industry with his 76 albums and selling out total 120 million albums, said on the 'Today' show that he really wants to be with his kids and wife now as they are important to him and that's why he's calling a quit to his music career, Us Magazine reported.

'The Gambler' hit-maker added that he has a dream of taking his wife Wanda Miller and their two children on a trip to Alaska for the annual salmon run.

 

The two-time Grammy winner admitted that it would be hard for him to say goodbye to the stage and he would surely miss it.

Rogers' final tour stop would be a live concert on the 'Today' show.
