Maldives vice president arrested over plot to assassinate president

Maldives Vice President Ahmed Adeeb has been arrested in connection with an explosion that took place on the presidential yacht in September.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the explosion took place aboard the boat when President Yameen Abdul Gayoom and his wife were returning to the capital on September 28 from the airport after a Hajj pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
