Mark Twain has very aptly said, "Wrinkles should merely indicate where the smiles have been." This appositely applies to a 104-year-old lady from a village in Chhattisgarh's Dhamtari district who sold her goats for constructing a toilet in her home.

The endeavor of this woman, who stays in a remote village and does not watch television or read the papers, has played a prominent role in making around 75 percent villages in the district open defecation free.

The lady, who came to know about the message of building toilets under the Clean India Mission, inspired several others in the village to build toilets at their homes.

She has indeed proved to be an inspiration for all, as now every home in the village has toilets. Her effort has garnered special applause from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who said it is a big sign of an India that is changing.
