'Parks and Recreation' creator Mike Schur has apologized for employing Louis CK on his former show despite knowing about his behaviour toward women.

After the New York Times got five women on record about his sexual misconduct in an expose, Schur took to Twitter to make an apology for giving the comedian a guest spot on the show

"Misogyny is a cancer. Harassment and abuse are that cancer metastasizing and going untreated. Stories like this being reported and printed are the first steps toward a cure," he wrote.

"I don't remember when I heard the rumors about him. But I'm sure it was before the last time he was on Parks and Rec. And that sucks. And I'm sorry."

C.K. appeared in six episodes of the Emmy-nominated show, giving a much-praised performance as Leslie Knope love interest Officer Dave, with his final show airing in 2012.
