Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Saturday cut a cake to kick- start extravagant celebrations being planned on the occasion of his 76th birthday tomorrow.
A cultural extravaganza, including a performance by Oscar- winning composer AR Rahman, will be held at Yadav's native village Saifai.
Several prominent politicians, bollywood actors, businessmen and envoys from some 10 countries have been invited to the event among others.
Bollywood stars Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan, and his wife Jaya Bachchan, are expected to attend the event.
Prominent Industrialists like Anil Ambani and Adi Godrej have also been invited to the celebrations.
Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad, Janata Dal-United president Sharad Yadav and former prime minister H.D. Deve Gowda, Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik are expected to be part of the celebrations.
