Honeymoon murder suspect Shrien Dewani's lawyer said that the accused had responded to an emotional email sent to him by his wife Anni and told her that he loved her.
The British businessman's lawyer, Francois van Zyl, asked the investigating officer Captain Paul Hendrikse if he had read the client's response to the email, to which he replied with a no.
Anni Hindocha had sent two emails around 11:00 on 5 November 2010, which was retrieved from her mobile phone after two months.
After Hendrikse read the contents of Anni's emails during the trial, Van Zyl read out the response that his client emailed the same day, noting that the "03:50" time stamp seemed to be incorrect or did not fit in, News 24 reports.
In the email, Dewani said he had been honest with her and did not say he regretted their relationship
Dewani wrote in the email that when he said "it was not natural and was forcing himself," he was talking about "not feeling happy" and "not that he was forcing himself to be with her".
He further wrote that he loved her and that was the most important thing, adding the rest would just come.
