Myanmar: Two journalists fined for defaming President Thein Sein

A court in Myanmar has fined two journalists with one million kyat each after finding them guilty of defaming the country's President Thein Sein.

According to BBC, the case was filed by the information ministry against the Myanmar Herald in November last year.

No other staff members from the organisation were acquitted in the case on Tuesday.

The newspaper had published an interview critical of the president.
