'Anonymous' hack group declares war on ISIS supporters

ANI London

A hack group, which calls itself 'Anonymous,' has reportedly published a list of Twitter accounts that it claimed were spreading propaganda in support of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), as part of a campaign against the terror group and its sympathisers.

While some accounts have been flooded with images of Japanese anime characters to try to influence search engine results for phrases connected to ISIS, some accounts have been shut down by the hack group, reported the BBC.

Anonymous is also targeting Facebook pages, blogs, websites and web proxies used by alleged ISIS supporters.

The publication of the list is the latest in a series of 'offensives' launched by the hack group and others hacktivist organisations against the ISIS group and its online supporters.
