PM Modi promotes khadi, cleanliness in maiden radio address

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday urged the nation to adopt khadi products and pay special attention to cleanliness in his maiden address to the nation through the medium of radio.

"Let us pledge to affirm to remove dirt. Yesterday we began the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan and I want you all to join this Abhiyaan," said Prime Minister Modi in the radio programme called 'Man ki Baat'.

He also urged people to adopt khadi products saying, "If you buy Khadi you light the lamp of prosperity in the house of a poor person."

Conveying his greetings to the people on the occasion of Vijaya Dashmi, the Prime Minister said "My greetings to all of you. Today's day celebrates the victory of good over evil."

 

Prime Minister Modi also praised the Mars Orbiter Mission's success saying, "Through the successful Mars mission, our scientists have shown our strength and pride. We have to understand ourselves better and integrate our strengths. We are not lacking in strength."

He also said that125 crore Indians are blessed with immense skills and strength and all we need to do is to understand our strengths.
