Prisoner shot to death in Delhi's Rohini court

A prisoner, who was shot at in the premises of Delhi's Rohini court on Saturday morning, succumbed to his injuries.

The attacker, Mohit, opened fired at the prisoner when he was being produced in the court for hearing.

The deceased, identified as Rajesh, was a criminal and was arrested in December 2016 on the charges of murder.

"Rajesh a notorious criminal has been shot dead outside Rohini court by Mohit, a resident of Haryana's Jhajjar district, while he was being brought by police," said M.N. Tiwari, DCP Rohini.

Meanwhile, the police has apprehended the accused and a case has been lodged.

"The incident took place at around 11 a.m. I saw two men opened fire at the prisoner. The police arrested one of the accused but the other one managed to escape," said an eyewitness.
