With a motive to take assent on the categorisation of the Scheduled Castes (SCs) Bill, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao would lead an all-party delegation to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 6 in the national capital.

The proposed meeting of the delegation comes against the backdrop of agitation by certain outfits for categorisation of SCs. The categorisation of SCs is being sought on the ground that they have not been benefited much in the existing system.

The Chief Minister had written the letter inviting all political parties to be a part of the delegation and to be present in New Delhi on February 5.

The invitees include Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief Uttam Kumar Reddy, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi, Bharatiya Janata Party state president K. Laxman, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president Ramana, Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram and Communist Party of India (CPI) secretary Chada Venkatreddy.

Rao had expressed his willingness to lead an all-party delegation on the issue to New Delhi at the meeting of SC and ST public representatives as well as in the Legislative Assembly.
