SC refuses to entertain plea on J-K rehabilitation law

ANI New Delhi [India]

The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to entertain the plea filed by National Panthers Party (NPP) chief Bhim Singh, seeking to constitute a special bench in connection with amendment in the rehabilitation law of people who had come from Pakistan to Jammu and Kashmir.

The organisations working for Kashmiri Pandits at Jammu earlier on Sunday demanded that the Centre take a fresh view of its policy for the community's rehabilitation in Kashmir Valley.

They claimed that the BJP-PDP Government in Jammu and Kashmir "failed" to ensure safety of 1,800 Kashmiri Pandit (KP) employees under the Prime Minister's special package announced for the displaced community's return to homeland.
