In an apparent reference to Navjot Singh Sidhu, who resigned from the membership of the Rajya Sabha and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in anticipation to join the Aam Aadmi Party, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday said it hardly matters who comes and goes out as people vote for only those parties that have potential to form a government.

"Whether anybody comes or goes out, it won't have any impact on people, who vote for only those parties, which have potential to form a government," said Badal during a 'Sangat Darshan' programme at Pakhoke village in Barnala district.

Asked whether he had received the resignation of Sidhu's wife Navjot Kaur, the chief minister said, "Thus far, I have received her resignation letter, and when it comes I will accept it."

Navjot Kaur had earlier said she was still with the BJP and her husband had resigned from the RS and not from the party.

When asked that Punjab BJP leaders were complaining that they were being "ignored" (by the government), Badal said, "We share a strong bonding, a mother-daughter relationship, with the BJP and take cabinet and other decisions of the government together."

He, meanwhile, called upon people to cast their vote wisely to elect a government of their choice.
