Sowjanya Bavisetti surprises by downing Xinyu Gao in ITF Women's Tennis tournament

Six seed Indian Sowjanya Bavisetti caused the biggest surprise as she defeated top seed Xinyu Gao of China in the quarter-finals of the USD 10,000 ITF Women's Tennis tournament in Anning.

Tied one-set all, Bavisetti won the match 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 by easily claiming the third set.

Bavisetti will now face seventh seeded Jia-Qi Chen in the semi-final, who defeated fourth seeded Chinese Di Zhao who retired after losing the first set.
