Tom Daley's boyfriend Dustin Lance Black is set to be a witness for the underage sex abuse trial involving 'X-Men' director Bryan Singer.

According to the Mirror, the Oscar-winning screenwriter Black, who recently moved to London to spend more time with Olympic diver Tom, will be named as a character witness in a lawsuit by aspiring actor Michael Egan against the 48-year-old director.

Egan claims that the film-maker had promised him a part in a movie but had drugged and raped him in Los Angeles and Hawaii when he was 15, and three other people, including a former high-ranking BBC executive, were part of the incident.

A source said that Dustin, 39, who looked up to Singer to be his close friend and mentor would be disturbed by the news as he is expected to grill Singer and others about their private lives.

Meanwhile, Singer's lawyer Marty Singer said that the allegations made against the filmmaker are without merit and he's confident that Singer will be vindicated in this absurd and defamatory lawsuit.

The case's hearing is scheduled in Hawaii on July 21.
