Nearly six people, including an additional session judge, were killed after unidentified assailants opened fire and threw crackers in an Islamabad court.

Due to continuous firing in the court, six people, including Rafaqat Awan, were killed and 20 others injured in the city's F-8 area.

The police said two suicide blasts took place at the court.

Officers at the scene said the incident began when a defendant was brought before the court and his friends tried to break him free, Dawn News reports.
