ANI General News

Union Minister and BJP candidate Nitin Gadkari, who is seeking re-election from Nagpur Lok Sabha seat, cast his ballot here on Thursday.

Gadkari and his wife exercised their franchise in booth number 220 in the city.

He was named as the BJP candidate from Nagpur in the first list of nominees released by the party on March 21. Nana Patole, who quit BJP to join Congress last year, is also fighting from the seat.

BJP and Shiv Sena had last month formed an alliance to contest 25 and 23 Lok Sabha seats respectively in Maharashtra. The state has 48 parliamentary constituencies.

While the phase of polling is being held in Maharashtra today, the other voting dates are April 18, 23 and 29.
