The United States army is expected to cut down its forces by 40,000 soldiers over the next two years, reports have stated.
According to BBC, around 17,000 employees will also be cut from the army in the cost-cutting exercise.
The plan will be officially announced later this week.
The move will see the US forces level drop to around 4,50,000 soldiers by the end of 2017.
