The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have decided on their childhood friends to become the godparents of their son, Prince George, in order to provide him with "stability and normality", it has been revealed.
Prince William has picked his former university friend Fergus Boyd, whereas Duchess Kate has chosen school friend Emilia d'Erlanger, to be Prince George's godparents, the Mirror reported.
William's lifelong friend Hugh van Cutsem, will also be joining as a godparent on Prince George's christening at St James's Palace, while the rest of the three godparents are yet to be announced.
It was earlier revealed that Queen Elizabeth had given her approval to the guest list of the ceremony, which consisted of only an inner circle of relatives and friends, to make it an "intimate affair".
