Chinese President Xi Jinping has said in a speech to chief executives ahead of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) summit that the risks facing China's economy are "not so scary".

According to the BBC, Xi said that there are some risks to the country's economic growth but the economy remained stable.

China also announced its energy ties status with Russia wherein both the nations are agreeing a major new gas pipeline linking the two countries.

The world's second largest economy has had a difficult year with a contradiction in the property market, unsteady exports and slower consumer demand.

Xi said that China's economic and social impacts were irreversible and that they would take time to have an impact.
