Auto shares fall

Auto stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Auto index falling 176.26 points or 1.06% at 16450.61 at 13:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Amara Raja Batteries Ltd (down 3.93%), Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (down 3.17%),Tata Motors Ltd (down 2.44%),Exide Industries Ltd (down 2.38%),Ashok Leyland Ltd (down 1.86%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 1.75%), Balkrishna Industries Ltd (down 1.7%), Bosch Ltd (down 1.43%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd (down 1.26%), and TVS Motor Company Ltd (down 0.65%).

On the other hand, Cummins India Ltd (up 0.95%), Apollo Tyres Ltd (up 0.62%), and Bajaj Auto Ltd (up 0.38%) moved up.

 

At 13:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 135.69 or 0.34% at 40145.51.

The Nifty 50 index was down 42.45 points or 0.36% at 11755.45.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 9.99 points or 0.07% at 14458.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 20.28 points or 0.41% at 4960.98.

On BSE,938 shares were trading in green, 1340 were trading in red and 151 were unchanged.
