Auto stocks edge higher
Auto stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Auto index increasing 89.82 points or 0.49% at 18388.12 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (up 1.07%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd (up 1.06%),Bosch Ltd (up 0.66%),Balkrishna Industries Ltd (up 0.59%),Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 0.51%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Tata Motors Ltd (up 0.45%), Ashok Leyland Ltd (up 0.44%), TVS Motor Company Ltd (up 0.38%), Bajaj Auto Ltd (up 0.36%), and Amara Raja Batteries Ltd (up 0.29%).
On the other hand, Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (down 0.07%), and Exide Industries Ltd (down 0.03%) turned lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 28.25 or 0.07% at 41670.91.
The Nifty 50 index was up 15.35 points or 0.13% at 12278.1.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 40.43 points or 0.3% at 13422.46.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 8.57 points or 0.18% at 4708.39.
On BSE,869 shares were trading in green, 520 were trading in red and 80 were unchanged.
