Auto stocks edge higher
Auto stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Auto index increasing 56.63 points or 0.32% at 17985.48 at 09:47 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Bajaj Auto Ltd (up 1.26%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 0.91%),Hero MotoCorp Ltd (up 0.87%),Bosch Ltd (up 0.7%),Eicher Motors Ltd (up 0.44%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Exide Industries Ltd (up 0.31%), Apollo Tyres Ltd (up 0.12%), and Balkrishna Industries Ltd (up 0.04%).
On the other hand, Ashok Leyland Ltd (down 1.38%), Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (down 1.28%), and TVS Motor Company Ltd (down 0.93%) turned lower.
At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 53.61 or 0.13% at 40748.56.
The Nifty 50 index was down 23 points or 0.19% at 12025.2.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 7.36 points or 0.05% at 13500.86.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 8.49 points or 0.18% at 4729.96.
On BSE,673 shares were trading in green, 701 were trading in red and 83 were unchanged.
