Auto shares fall

Auto stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Auto index falling 117.12 points or 0.48% at 24098.78 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Hero MotoCorp Ltd (down 1.74%), Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 1.57%),Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 1.39%),TVS Motor Company Ltd (down 1.1%),Bosch Ltd (down 0.99%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (down 0.77%), Ashok Leyland Ltd (down 0.75%), Eicher Motors Ltd (down 0.73%), MRF Ltd (down 0.69%), and Exide Industries Ltd (down 0.26%).

On the other hand, Escorts Ltd (up 3.05%), Tata Motors Ltd (up 2.39%), and Amara Raja Batteries Ltd (up 0.85%) moved up.

 

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 834.76 or 1.66% at 51131.65.

The Nifty 50 index was up 236.35 points or 1.58% at 15155.45.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 339.83 points or 1.63% at 21146.07.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 101.33 points or 1.46% at 7022.61.

On BSE,1843 shares were trading in green, 1044 were trading in red and 169 were unchanged.
