Auto shares rise

Auto stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Auto index rising 254.77 points or 2.07% at 12562 at 09:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Tata Motors Ltd (up 3.66%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 3.25%),Bosch Ltd (up 3.04%),Cummins India Ltd (up 2.97%),Apollo Tyres Ltd (up 2.62%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Balkrishna Industries Ltd (up 2.24%), Bajaj Auto Ltd (up 2.09%), Ashok Leyland Ltd (up 2.05%), Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (up 1.8%), and Amara Raja Batteries Ltd (up 1.64%).

At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 485.35 or 1.62% at 30514.33.

 

The Nifty 50 index was up 140.55 points or 1.59% at 8963.8.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 58.15 points or 0.56% at 10434.46.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 40.37 points or 1.11% at 3691.04.

On BSE,829 shares were trading in green, 517 were trading in red and 73 were unchanged.
