Auto stocks spurt
Auto stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Auto index increasing 333.38 points or 2.7% at 12678.11 at 09:53 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (up 6.69%), Tata Motors Ltd (up 5.74%),TVS Motor Company Ltd (up 4.26%),Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 3.64%),Hero MotoCorp Ltd (up 3.53%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Bajaj Auto Ltd (up 2.89%), Cummins India Ltd (up 2.61%), Eicher Motors Ltd (up 2.24%), Amara Raja Batteries Ltd (up 2.14%), and Apollo Tyres Ltd (up 1.78%).
At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 539.17 or 1.7% at 32181.87.
The Nifty 50 index was up 164.75 points or 1.78% at 9416.25.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 90.65 points or 0.85% at 10729.35.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 41.51 points or 1.1% at 3798.37.
On BSE,1057 shares were trading in green, 404 were trading in red and 75 were unchanged.
