Auto stocks spurt
Auto stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Auto index increasing 582.58 points or 4.62% at 13181.97 at 09:53 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Tata Motors Ltd (up 11.45%), Ashok Leyland Ltd (up 10.11%),Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (up 8.91%),Apollo Tyres Ltd (up 5.69%),Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 5.07%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (up 4.31%), Balkrishna Industries Ltd (up 3.84%), MRF Ltd (up 3.81%), Bajaj Auto Ltd (up 3.6%), and Exide Industries Ltd (up 3.22%).
On the other hand, Cummins India Ltd (down 0.78%), turned lower.
At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 831.32 or 2.54% at 33551.48.
The Nifty 50 index was up 246.5 points or 2.58% at 9799.85.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 177.78 points or 1.62% at 11152.94.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 72.47 points or 1.88% at 3935.72.
On BSE,1184 shares were trading in green, 349 were trading in red and 80 were unchanged.
