Auto shares rise

Auto stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Auto index rising 522.8 points or 4.56% at 11984.43 at 09:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Tata Motors Ltd (up 7.99%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 6.65%),Hero MotoCorp Ltd (up 6.56%),Cummins India Ltd (up 6.43%),Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (up 4.55%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (up 4.54%), Bosch Ltd (up 3.63%), Apollo Tyres Ltd (up 3.48%), Bajaj Auto Ltd (up 3.1%), and Amara Raja Batteries Ltd (up 2.76%).

At 09:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 736.69 or 2.46% at 30630.65.

 

The Nifty 50 index was up 241.95 points or 2.77% at 8990.7.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 279.08 points or 2.8% at 10258.8.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 83.96 points or 2.37% at 3630.43.

On BSE,1319 shares were trading in green, 199 were trading in red and 78 were unchanged.
