Oil and Gas stocks edge higher

Oil and Gas stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index increasing 228.5 points or 2.13% at 10942.53 at 09:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 6.72%), Petronet LNG Ltd (up 4.26%),Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 3.01%),Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 2.1%),Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 1.74%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 1.58%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 1.27%), GAIL (India) Ltd (up 1.05%), and Reliance Industries Ltd (up 0.41%).

On the other hand, Castrol India Ltd (down 0.73%), turned lower.

 

At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 485.35 or 1.62% at 30514.33.

The Nifty 50 index was up 140.55 points or 1.59% at 8963.8.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 58.15 points or 0.56% at 10434.46.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 40.37 points or 1.11% at 3691.04.

On BSE,829 shares were trading in green, 517 were trading in red and 73 were unchanged.
