Energy shares rise
Energy stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Energy index rising 42.82 points or 1% at 4340.76 at 09:45 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Aban Offshore Ltd (up 4.95%), GOCL Corporation Ltd (up 4.22%),Confidence Petroleum India Ltd (up 3.47%),Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 2.7%),Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 2.35%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Jindal Drilling & Industries Ltd (up 2.12%), Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd (up 1.32%), Alphageo (India) Ltd (up 1.29%), Reliance Industries Ltd (up 1.21%), and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 1.04%).
On the other hand, Selan Explorations Technology Ltd (down 2.15%), Coal India Ltd (down 1.19%), and Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Ltd (down 1.16%) moved lower.
At 09:45 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 94.01 or 0.26% at 36575.1.
The Nifty 50 index was up 23.25 points or 0.21% at 10840.85.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 45.98 points or 0.36% at 12901.34.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 6.46 points or 0.15% at 4263.39.
On BSE,909 shares were trading in green, 395 were trading in red and 53 were unchanged.
