Energy shares slide

Energy stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Energy index falling 42.96 points or 0.83% at 5158.1 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Panama Petrochem Ltd (down 3.46%), Goa Carbon Ltd (down 2.41%),Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (down 1.77%),Coal India Ltd (down 1.48%),Aban Offshore Ltd (down 1.18%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Reliance Industries Ltd (down 0.86%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 0.84%), Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (down 0.56%), Castrol India Ltd (down 0.5%), and Petronet LNG Ltd (down 0.35%).

On the other hand, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (up 1.79%), Alphageo (India) Ltd (up 1.27%), and Confidence Petroleum India Ltd (up 1.13%) moved up.

 

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 156.67 or 0.38% at 41304.59.

The Nifty 50 index was down 39.45 points or 0.32% at 12175.1.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 55.7 points or 0.42% at 13440.03.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 4.94 points or 0.11% at 4701.2.

On BSE,1294 shares were trading in green, 1028 were trading in red and 161 were unchanged.
